A court spokesman said the verdict in the New York civil fraud case against former President Donald Trump, which had been expected on Wednesday, is now expected to come in early to mid-February.
This new timeline for Judge Arthur Engoron’s written decision is still a “rough estimate” and “subject to change,” said Alfred Baker, spokesman for the New York State Office of Court Administration.
“But that’s the work plan now,” Baker said.

Engoron said at the end of Trump’s trial last month in Manhattan Supreme Court that he would try to issue his final ruling by Wednesday, but noted that there was “no guarantee” he would meet that time frame.
That day passed and reporters regularly updated the court docket website without the final verdict being made public.
In the case, New York Attorney General Letitia James accuses Trump, the Trump Organization, his two adult sons and top executives of inflating Trump’s net worth in his financial reports, violating a state anti-fraud law.
Engoron found the defendants guilty of fraud before trial.
The trial was conducted to determine penalties and resolve other allegations of misconduct from James’ lawsuit. Engoron conducted the trial without a jury.
Reuters first reported the new time frame for the ruling.
